How do I calculate a unit price?
Divide the package price by the package quantity after converting every product to the same measurement. This calculator performs compatible conversions before comparing the results.
Can I compare ounces with pounds or grams?
Yes. Ounces, pounds, grams, and kilograms are all weight measurements, so the calculator converts them to a common basis. It also compares milliliters, liters, and US fluid measurements such as fluid ounces, cups, pints, quarts, and gallons.
Why can’t weight and volume packages be compared directly?
Weight and volume measure different things. Converting between them requires a product-specific density, so this calculator rejects that comparison instead of guessing.
How should I enter a multipack?
Enter the total amount across the whole pack. For example, six 12-fluid-ounce cans contain 72 fluid ounces. For individually counted items, enter the total number of items and choose item count.
Does the lowest unit price always mean the best choice?
No. The result uses only the price and quantity entered. Coupons, tax, membership requirements, spoilage, product quality, and whether you will use the larger package can change the practical choice.
